About the Project
The ZEBRAS Project (Zero Waste through Bokashi Composting to Produce Compost for Healthy Soil) is an Erasmus+ initiative that focuses on promoting sustainable waste management and environmentally responsible practices through vocational education and training (VET). The project aims to introduce innovative and practical solutions for managing organic waste while supporting the development of green skills among different target groups.
Organic waste constitutes a significant portion of daily waste produced by households, agricultural activities and food services. If not managed properly, it contributes to environmental pollution and the loss of valuable natural resources. The ZEBRAS Project addresses this challenge by promoting Bokashi composting, a simple and effective fermentation-based method that converts organic waste into nutrient-rich compost. This method helps reduce waste, improve soil quality and support sustainable agricultural practices.
Within the scope of the project, partners will collaborate to develop educational materials, training resources and a digital e-learning platform that will support students, farmers, educators and local communities in learning and applying sustainable composting techniques. These resources will make environmental education more accessible while encouraging practical engagement with sustainable waste management practices.
Through international cooperation and innovative educational approaches, the ZEBRAS Project aims to raise awareness about environmental responsibility, support the transition toward zero-waste practices, and contribute to a more sustainable and climate-conscious society.
